Michael Allen Joins Citizens Gas as Director of Legal Department

INDIANAPOLIS – Michael Allen has joined Citizens Gas & Coke Utility as Associate Counsel and Director of the utility’s Legal Department, assuming responsibility for managing the utility’s day-to-day legal affairs. He will report to John Whitaker, Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Allen brings to the utility a broad range of experience in energy law, having served as Assistant General Counsel for the Midwest ISO and Senior Counsel for Cinergy Corp. He also has practiced with the law firms of Baker & Daniels in Indianapolis and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Chicago. Allen also maintains an active human rights pro bono practice and regularly represents refugees seeking asylum in the United States.

A native of central Indiana, Allen is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis, where he served on the Indiana Law Review.
