Helping Customers in Need
This past year Citizens Gas facilitated distribution of about $3.8 million in financial assistance to low-income customers. The utility's financial commitment totaled more than $500,000 in fiscal 2004, including $50,000 to the City's Winter Assistance Fund; $110,000 to low-income seniors; and $166,000 in grants to customers through the utility's Warm Heart Warm Home Foundation.

| The utility also allocated about $200,000 last year to fund comprehensive weatherization of nearly 100 low-income households with the highest energy usage. The utility also has proposed a Universal Service Program to provide another $2.5 million in support by next winter to low-income customers, including an additional $400,000 for home weatherization. |
